POSITION FILLED: State Manager and First Nations Collaboration Lead

Role: State Manager and First Nations Collaboration Lead (Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Identified)

Team: Home Ownership Success

Salary Type: Contractor

Term: 12 Month Contract (contract may be extended based on available funding)

Commitment: Up to 38 hours per week (hours are negotiable)

Location: Virtual role, preferably located in NSW or Wollongong LGA

Contract rate: $51.90 hour plus super (FTE $102,546 plus super)

SCHADS Pay Level: Level 6 pay point one

Reports to: Founder and Managing Director

Head Start Homes is a innovative not-for-profit Community Services organisation helping lower-income renters improve their financial capability and achieve their home ownership dreams via our groundbreaking Empowerment Services and Products. Most of our clients are single mums, First Nations Peoples, households with a disability or social housing tenants.


Your Opportunity

We’re looking for a passionate and values-driven candidate with heart, strong advocacy and client-centric skills and expertise. You will be driven by our cause and the positive impact we have on people’s lives, and their communities including helping to reduce intergenerational poverty. Apart from upholding Head Start Home’s vision and mission, you will have 3+ years of experience in senior community service roles, preferably in housing or finance.  

Your Role

As a leader in our Home Ownership Success team, you will be responsible for generating client outcomes and collaborating with First Nations communities and organisations to drive our mission to support traditionally excluded people seeking homeownership with access to our Empowerment Products and Services.  

 

You will work closely with our clients, stakeholders and our internal Home Ownership Success team to deliver our Empowerment Products and Services to our clients by improving their financial capability; and identifying and advocating for their access to secure housing tenure and home ownership pathways. 

 

This extends to working closely to leverage and maintain partnered and collaborative relationships including with our customer-facing external providers. 


About You

Essential criteria

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a management role in social work, community development, finance or related field. 

Desirable criteria

Education: Tertiary degree in a relevant field- Social Work, Community Development, Social Sciences, or finance. 

Experience: 1+ year experience in the banking, home ownership related sector like Real Estate or social and affordable housing sector. 

Location: Desirable location in NSW and particularly in the Wollongong LGA.
