Head Start Homes makes Port Macquarie headlines
As our Home Ownership Pilot program continues to progress in the Mid-North Coast, Head Start Homes is pleased to have been featured in the Port Macquarie News.
In a region with high levels of rental stress and long social housing waitlists, we are excited that our solution is having a positive impact in reducing poverty and homelessness.
Right now, a number of Port Macquarie community housing tenants are being empowered to increase their financial capability and become mortgage-ready. Our empowerment services are already delivering strong impact, with a 500% increase in savings recorded for Head Start Homes applicants over a 6 month period.
We look forward to expanding our work in this area - helping families achieve their home ownership dreams while also freeing up much needed community housing tenancies for those facing homelessness or housing insecurity.
