Charlene has purchased her home with settlement due to take place in the coming weeks.
We’re thrilled to let you know that Charlene has exchanged the sales contract for her new home and settlement is due to take place in the coming weeks..
Stephen, our Founder, had the privilege of letting Charlene know that exchange had taken place last week. He had this to say about the experience:
“It was a phone call I’ll never forget as Charlene was filled with joy and was holding back the tears. I think it’s important for us to take some time to reflect on what this means for Charlene, her children and the household who will be able to move into Charlene’s newly vacated social housing home.”
You can see from the photos just how happy and excited Charlene was when signing the contract.
In her own words Charlene, a single Aboriginal Mum, would never have dreamed (let alone been able) to own her own home without our support. Once Charlene was motivated by the hope provided by our Head Start Guarantee pathway, her life changed. She began to see herself differently and became more confident at work and was inspired by the example she was setting for her children.
A big thanks to our wonderful volunteers, the Aboriginal Housing Office, Community Housing Limited, Flint Property and Ms Deeds Conveyancing for the funding and support which were vital in achieving this milestone. A special mention also to St George Bank who have given unconditional approval for Charlene’s home loan.
A special thanks also to St.George Bank, for providing Charlene with a Head Start Pledge which comes with their best in market interest rates and reduced fees which will save Charlene many thousands of dollars over the life of her home loan.
We’re thrilled that Charlene and her kids are one step closer to moving into their new home.
