Head Start Homes is delighted to announce the appointment of Pam Jackson as the new First Nations Collaboration and Liaison Officer. A respected member of the Bundjalung nation (North Coast, NSW), Pam brings extensive experience in education, curriculum development, and a profound commitment to community development, particularly among First Nations Peoples.
In her prior role at City West Housing, Pam played a pivotal role in forming partnerships with Aboriginal organisations across housing, health, and employment sectors, supporting the well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander tenants. Her contributions to the implementation of City West Housingβs Reconciliation Action Plan have been particularly noteworthy.
Pam's dedication to working with First Nation peoples spans across decades:
I have always had a passion to work with my people and to give back and walk a journey as a role model for the generationβs past, present, and future.
Throughout my personal and professional life, I have been humbled and honoured to have been an identified leader by my peers, family, community and friends due to cultural belonging through my Aboriginal heritage. While in the mainstream community, I am regarded as a person of senior age in our culture, I am regarded with the utmost respect as being an Elderβ said Pam. β¨
In her new role, Pam will focus on cultivating and expanding partnerships with our supporter organisations which span across sectors to enhance access for clients, with a special emphasis on strengthening relationships with First Nations Peoples, organisations and Communities. π‘
