We are excited to announce that Melissa Meier and Kristy Petersen have joined Head Start Homes as Financial Capability Workers. Both Melissa and Kristy align perfectly with our mission of providing a safe and stable home for everyone, with fair and practical pathways into home ownership.

Melissa Meier joins us with a strong background in client management and project coordination. Melissa has extensive experience in managing customer interactions and improving client experiences. Her previous roles have equipped her with the skills necessary to support our growing need and expansion of empowerment services. Melissa shared her passion, stating, "I care about helping people achieve their goals and love doing community work." 💪

Kristy Petersen brings extensive experience in financial planning and community engagement. Navigating the dynamic world of finance for 30 years, Kristy has worn many hats: banking, conveyancing, insurance, paraplanning, financial planning, and more. After the Black Summer Bushfires, she shifted to rural and small business financial counselling, individual financial counselling, and now, financial capability—offering free, confidential, and professional services to our communities. Kristy shared, "Turns out, I'm incredibly passionate about this field! I've always fought for social justice and advocated for all clients, from the vulnerable to those finding their financial footing." 🚀
