HomeOwnership Success Team Welcomes Georgie
Head Start Homes is thrilled to welcome Georgie Jaques, who will be working as a Home Ownership Success Team Assistant.
Georgie is studying a Bachelor of Social Work at the University of South Australia in Adelaide and has a passion for youth work, in particular with First Nations communities.
“My mother is a Ngaanyatjarra and Pitjantjatjara woman, and I have a real desire to work with Indigenous communities to empower them to succeed,” she said.
“I’m so excited to be working with HSH which is bringing social work and everything I am studying to life for me.
“I’m happy to be supporting the HomeOwnership Success team as they guide people towards owning their own homes.”
After growing up in Canberra, Georgie relocated to Adelaide this year to train with a state AFL team, Norwood. Football takes up much of her spare time, involving training two days a week, game day and a recovery day. Georgie has just been drafted to the Port Adelaide team in the national AFLW league.
In 2022, Georgie volunteered with Red Frogs Australia at Schoolies Week on the Gold Coast, as well as at music festivals.
“It was such a positive experience, learning how to communicate with young people and offering support,” she said.
HSH Founder and Managing Director Stephen Woodlands welcomed Georgie to the team.
“Georgie is such a passionate advocate of our vision and mission and is already creating wonderful outcomes for our clients and our team. We are excited about working alongside Georgie as together we help even more families achieve their homeownership dreams,”” he said.
