Celebrating Hope’s 1st Year Anniversary as a Proud Homeowner
We can’t believe that it is already one year since Hope, our second Home Starter moved into her new home.
Hope, a proud single mum, has raised her 3 beautiful Aboriginal children for over 30 years years and is also a proud grandma. Hope also works as a Nurse providing essential care for patients in the Mid-North Coast, NSW.
We checked in with Hope to see how life has been since becoming a homeowner last year. Hope said:
“I love being a home owner. It’s a great achievement for a single woman coming from the background that I did. My children are very proud of me, and hopefully it has helped them to dream big.”
Hope also reflected on how being a homeowner has come with its challenges but shared how being a homeowner at this time has proven to be a great investment and opportunity.
“Being a home owner in this climate is a big deal, as the price of housing has greatly increased.
“I sometimes feel overwhelmed with the responsibility of payments and repairs, but I take a big breath and remind myself that this is meant to be, and God has given me the grace to achieve.”
Hope has made several improvements to her home over the past 12 months, including
“Being a home owner motivates me to get up and work hard each day. Also reminds me that there is always Hope, if you look for it.”
“When I moved in, my family and I painted and put new carpet. I will slowly renovate different things.”
Hope also gave a special thanks to Brooke Flint from Flint Property who acted as her property coach and did an amazing job helping her to find the right brick home at the right price.
Stephen Woodlands, Founder and Managing Director, said:
Hope’s story demonstrates the positive ripple effects home ownership has on our clients, their children and our communitites. Congratulations Hope and thanks for continuing to inspire us all.
Head Start Homes extends a special thanks to the Aboriginal Housing Office for providing grant funding to support our NSW pilot and also thanks St.George Bank, Flint Property, Community Housing Limited and Ms Deeds Conveyancing.
