Watch: Kera's Inspiring Home Ownership Journey πŸŽ₯

Last week we showcased Kera’s story at the 6th Housing and Homelessness Forum in Darwin. This truly inspiring story embodies the spirit and mission of Head Start Homes. Kera is a proud First Nations single mum and kin carer, who transformed her life and the future of her family through the power of home ownership 🌈🏠.

Kera's journey with Head Start Homes began back in 2021 when she was living in social housing, a place her family had called home for 17 years. With determination and the support of our team, Kera embarked on a savings plan that not only built her financial confidence but also paved the way for her to purchase the very home she had been renting.

In this video, Kera shares her experiences and the challenges she overcame working alongside us. Her story is a testament to the impact of our empowerment services and the difference they make in the lives of individuals and families striving for stability and independence.

We invite you to watch Kera's video and join us in celebrating her success. Her story is not just one of personal achievement but also a beacon of hope for many others who are on their journey to home ownership πŸŽ₯

Thanks to the Aboriginal Housing Office, Community Housing Limited, Land and Housing Corporation, St George Bank, Ms Deeds Conveyancing, Elders Real Estate for also working alongside Kera.

We also extend our gratitude to Fran Dobbie of Earthstar Productions for producing Kera’s inspiring story.
