Nikki Woodlands: Head Start Homes Supporter Spotlight
It’s been a while since we’ve featured one of our fabulous Supporters in our Spotlight. We thought it was about time we introduced you to Head Start Homes Member, Nikki Woodlands.
Recently retired from her life’s work as a Registered Nurse and Social Worker, Nikki is passionate about implementing reforms that provide people with safe, stable access to permanent homes.
Nikki feels honoured to have worked with people with diverse needs including people with disabilities, people who were sick and/or dying, people who were homeless including women and children fleeing domestic violence, and people with dementia.
Nikki has also been at the forefront of fighting for change to help reduce domestic violence abuse. This included being a Board Member for The Domestic Violence Crisis Service Inc. and facilitating Domestic Violence Education Workshops for the Judiciary, Clergy, Community Groups, Police and the Domestic Violence Helpline.
Nikki also has a deep knowledge of the community housing sector and was a Founding Member of Saphire Housing Cooperative Inc in South Australia.
Nikki considers her greatest achievement to be raising three beautiful children on her own, including our wonderful founder, Stephen. We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have both her support and her guidance.
