Over $12,000 raised by our 2019 City2Surf team!
On Sunday, our team of 30 change-makers completed the 14km City2Surf fun run - an amazing effort!
We are so grateful for our incredible community of supporters who have given of their time and finances so generously. Over 150+ people contributed to raise over $12,000.
During the event our team joined thousands of others in the journey from Hyde Park to Bondi; a distance of 14km which is around 18,000 steps. While 18,000 steps sounds a lot, it is little when you compare it to the magnitude of key stats regarding Australia's housing crisis. Sadly this means that every single one of the 18,000 steps we took during the City2Surf represents about:
10 households who are currently waiting to be allocated into a social housing home; and
6 people who are currently homeless.
More than ever we need innovative solutions like Head Start Homes.
A HUGE thank you to those who contributed - the amazing team members who ran or walked on the day, as well as all of those who gave financially towards our work.
100% of funds raised will go directly towards helping to end homelessness by:
Giving a head start to our first community housing family so they can fulfil their home ownership dreams.
This will then free the way for another household, at risk of homelessness, to gain access to a community housing home.
